Usher’s “New Look Foundation” Encourages Leadership And Mentoring

Back in June, R&B Superstar Usher Raymond hosted a World Leadership Conference at Emory University in Atlanta,GA.  I guess Usher has been up to this for years but I’ve only just now heard about it. The leadership conference is an extension Usher’s “New Look Foundation” organized to assist at risk youth.

About New Look: When Usher Raymond founded New Look in 1999, he and his mother researched issues that youth face by listening to proceedings at the local juvenile court. Seeing a gap in positive role models and the inability of many youth to see beyond their current circumstance, he created the Foundation to give kids a “new look” on life. 3rd Annual World Leadership Conference: Usher’s non-profit organization, New Look Foundation, hosted their third annual World Leadership Conference at Emory University in Atlanta from June 19-23, 2012. The World Leadership Conference brings together celebrities, corporate leaders, and politicians with 150 youth leaders representing eight different countries.

Throughout the five day conference, the New Look youth had the opportunity to visit major corporate sites including GE, Georgia Power, and AT&T as part of the conference’s “Powered By Service” training. A local Atlanta based company, Crawford & Company participated in a portion of the conference called Expressions on Thursday, June, 21st. Crawford & Company is the world’s largest independent provider of claims management solutions. Several of their employees spoke to the young leaders about obstacles they’ve overcome, and the company’s worldwide service day.

Big shout out to Usher.
