Here’s another headline from MSN that you might want to check out. It seems that the U.S army has determined that the new digital camoflauge uniforms aren’t so camoflauge. The report states that the army has invested somewhere in the area of 5 billion dollars into the new field uniforms but is deciding to “scrap” them after it has been determined that it causes soldiers to stand out in combat rather than blend in.
The article also suggests that the U.S. Army only decided to go with digital cammies after the U.S. Marine Corps issued a Maradmin that all U.S. Marines would have to switch to the new digital patterns. I for one, know that the U.S. Marines were told that the switch was being made because the “digital” pattern in the cammies made it hard to be detected by night vision goggles (NVG’s). Is that still the case or was that all a lie?
