“The Plumber” Comes To Boston’s Strand Theatre

3JS Entertainment, First Class Cuts and Irish and Chin are bringing Jamaica’s hit play “The Plumber” to the Strand Theater in Dorchester (Boston) for one night only on Saturday, October 2.
Doors Open 7PM

Audiences will surely be blown over by “The Plumber,” as the play’s gripping story line leaves audiences anticipating what will happen from scene to scene when the issues of marriage, infidelity and paternity are brought to light. These issues ring true with audiences worldwide and invariably they become so drawn into the action that they forget that it’s just a play and not real life. Contributing to that is the outstanding performance of the talented ensemble cast including Andrea “Delcita” Wright, hailed as Jamaica’s “Queen of Comedy,” Garfield “Bad Boy Trevor” Reid, Michael “Stringbeans” Nicholson, Stede “Jooky Jam” Flash, Belinda Reid and Trudy Bell. Written by Paul O. Beale and directed by Paul O. Beal and Stede “Jooky Jam” Flash, “The Plumber” follows in the great tradition of comedic history mounted by Stages Productions.

After 20 years in the police force, crime fighting is beginning to take its toll on Detective Jones (Garfield Reid) and by extension on his marriage. His wife Janet (Belinda Reid) is as frustrated with his lack of attention both inside and outside of the bedroom and, as John continues to fail to stand-up to his responsibilities, she seeks solace in an old flame Andre (Michael Nicholson).

This is however more than a love triangle, as Andre is now married to Janet’s only child Cindy (Trudy Bell). Matters become even more complicated when John invites his son Stamma (Stede Flash) up from the country to live with him and he takes along his sweetheart Delcita (Andrea Wright). As the story twists and turns, Delcita always finds herself in the middle, creating more pressure on the Joneses as they struggle to keep their marriage afloat.
