Hiphop Artists Can Win $10,000 Studio Time Block

Ourstage.com has another competition geared toward rappers. This time artists are battling for the opportunity to open up for PacDiv and N.E.R.D. with a bonus of $10,000 in recording studio time. The contest description as listed on the site:

“Coors Light Search for the Coldest” Competition 

Think you have what it takes to open for N.E.R.D. and PacDiv? OurStage is joining forces with Coors Light to find the Coldest MC yet to be discovered. And when we say Cold, we mean rock-solid rhyming skills, unadulterated originality, and epic stage presence.

Starting March 1st, hip-hop artists are invited to upload their best original track and enter into one of four regionally based competition channels (North, South, Midwest, West). Fan Judges will vote, eventually selecting the Top 40 MCs in the country.

From there, Search for the Coldest Celebrity Judges will scope out the remaining competitors. And when we say Celeb Judges we mean it: Established Ice-Cold MCs, PacDiv; newly minted President of Def Jam South and Terror Squad legend, DJ Khaled; and ultra-prolific, Grammy-winning writer and producer Brian Michael Cox. They’ll narrow it down to the Final Four Coldest MCs in the competition and then the final decision goes back to our fan Judges. The Final Four MCs will be videotaped and uploaded onto OurStage in June, to battle for The Coldest MC Title.

The Winner not only lays claim to the name Coldest MC, but also gets to open for N.E.R.D July 2nd in New Orleans AND gets hooked up with $10,000 in studio time.

Artists have until May 1st, 2011 to submit their track and be eligible for a chance to win. Participants must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older at time of entry and must reside within the *forty-eight (48) Contiguous United States. Only submission materials determined at the sole discretion of the Sponsors to be classified as Hip-Hop, as defined by the OurStage FAQ’s, will be deemed valid entries.
